Training Fellowship in Private Practice
The Baltimore Center for Psychotherapy offers fellowship positions for training in practicing psychodynamic psychotherapy in a private practice context. Fellows are early-career social workers with an interest in private practice with a psychodynamic orientation. The fellowship consists of a paid caseload, individual and group supervision, and ongoing didactic learning.
Didactic components of the fellowship include ongoing support in building and maintaining a business, weekly caseload supervision, weekly psychodynamic supervision, group case consultation, and a weekly reading group focused on psychodynamic theory and practice. Fellows with a particular interest are also encouraged and supported to develop a practice of clinical writing.
The fellowship requires a minimum commitment of two years and offers the opportunity to continue as a fellow for up to three years. Fellows build a caseload of roughly 25 patients in weekly psychotherapy and are W-2 employees.
